Les 6 au jardin

In the heart of the appellation, “Les 6 au Jardin” embodies the dream come true of the Martineau family. Since 2018, Guillaume and Nathalie, accompanied by their four children, have been cultivating their 0.41-hectare “vineyard-garden.”

This plot, nestled on a south-facing slope and protected by a grove rich in biodiversity, is home to vines planted in 1957. Rooted in deep clay soils, these old merlot vines benefit from high planting density and an ideal terroir to reach perfect maturity.

Each production step reflects the family’s careful attention: rigorous Duclos pruning, green harvesting limiting to one bunch per shoot, manual harvesting and sorting, minimal yields (20-25 hl/ha), and horse plowing to preserve the soils.

The winemaking process, equally meticulous, takes place in barrels. The grapes are foot-crushed following Portuguese tradition, then vinified through gentle infusion, before aging for 20 to 22 months.

The result: a rare wine (700 to 1,200 numbered bottles per vintage), pure expression of the terroir, combining powerful black fruits, freshness, and refined structure.
