Château Belair Saint-Georges

Founded in 1978 when Yannick Le Menn, a young oenologist, acquired 10 hectares in the commune of Montagne, Château Belair Saint-Georges is part of the family’s wine journey that began in 1962 with Château Haut Saint Clair in Puisseguin. Today, the Le Menn Vineyards extend over 19 hectares of exceptional limestone terroir.
In 2023, Nicolas Le Menn, who holds a doctorate in oenology and worked at Veuve Clicquot (LVMH), took over the family legacy alongside his brother Thomas. The estate enjoys a privileged location, on one of the highest points of the Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion appellation, with optimal southern exposure and clay soils over asterias limestone.
The diverse grape varieties include 40% old indigenous Merlot vines, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, complemented by Petit Verdot and Malbec. The property is committed to environmentally responsible practices and is HVE certified.
In Saint-Georges-Saint-Emilion, the estate offers two distinct ranges: Château Belair Saint-Georges, a fruity and structured wine with subtle barrel aging, and its second wine, Château Belair Montaiguillon, which focuses more on freshness and accessibility.
The estate also produces two special cuvées. Les 3 Sans du Château Belair Saint-Georges is made without added sulfites, without fining, and without wood to express the fruit in its most natural and pure form. As for Agios Georgios, it features a unique Greek grape variety, Agiorgitiko (the Saint-Georges grape), planted in Saint-Georges, to create an original Vin de France that is adapted to climate change.
Estate visits followed by wine tastings are available by appointment only. Tours can be conducted in English, German, Italian, Spanish, and French.
